PROJECT: A Dance Film with principal dancers of Colorado Ballet.
CHALLENGE: Capturing high-speed camera footage of the dancers while bringing in elements like rain to create a secondary movement of the dancers cutting through the rain particles. The idea was to capture dancers in a specific moment of their performance and have the elements interact with them in an interesting way.
SOLUTION: We used a slow-motion camera and motion control robot to orchestrate specific angles of the dancers, focusing on capturing the peak performance of each movement. The series of those would stitch into a 4 minute film that focuses on letting the time pass as we watch these dancers locked in time.
